Nurses and doctors are happy to give advice over the phone, if you have any doubt whether an appointment is really necessary.
You may wish to consider keeping some simple remedies at home, ie. soluble paracetamol tablets (for adults and children over 16) which are good for headaches, colds, sore throats and painful bruises. Or paracetamol mixture (ie. Calpol and Disprol) for relief of pain or fever in young children.
Remember all medicines should be kept in a box or cupboard with a lock and stored well out of the reach of children.
